Fabrics
The fabrics I use in my collections are very important to me, I hand select each fabric I use so they are comfortable on the skin, will stand the test of time and are sustainable. I use a mixture of reclaimed, naturally derived and biodegradable fabrics within the collections.
Though creativity and thoughtfulness I can create garments that are better for the planet but also more exclusive and unique for my customers.
Organic cotton
Organic cotton is grown from non-GMO seeds without the use of toxic and persistent pesticides and fertilisers. It uses natural farming practices that support healthy soil, increase biodiversity, and reduce the fibre's water footprint.
Viscose
Viscose is a fibre that is derived from wood pulp, making it a natural fabric that is more breathable than cotton. The natural fibres of Viscose are hypo-allergenic, making it the perfect choice for even the most sensitive skin. Your viscose garment will last a seriously long time, but when the time finally comes, viscose fibres will naturally decompose in soil.
Natural fibres
Natural fibre fabrics - fabrics that are made from natural fibres mean that when the garment finally end their life they will bio-degrade at a much quicker rate than synthetic fabrics. They are also more breathable, softer and gentler on your skin which is important in pregnancy as your senses are heightened.
Reclaimed or dead-stock fabrics - These are “wastage” fabrics from the fashion industry, usually left over from large corporations, fabric mills and factories, if not used they would be sent to landfill or incinerated. Which creates huge amounts of emissions and land pollution. By using these fabrics that are already in existence we reduce the amount of new fabrics being produced using natural resources and creating carbon emissions.
