Behind the scenes, from the Launch party.

I had been working hard for months to develop this line of clothing, carefully selecting dead-stock and natural fiber fabrics that are both comfortable and eco-friendly. And after all that hard work, the big day finally arrived: the official launch party!

If you didn’t make it you can read all the goss below on what went down.

Throughout the day, I was kept busy with lots of interest in the product and plenty of questions about the brand. Everyone was keen to learn more about the sustainable manufacturing process and the benefits of using dead-stock and natural fiber fabrics. People were impressed by the quality of the materials and the stylish designs that were both practical and functional for motherhood.

Many mums expressed their appreciation for having heard about Nomadic mother and how needed stylish and sustainable maternity and breastfeeding clothing was, that they could feel good about wearing. I was thrilled to hear such positive feedback and it made all the hard work feel even more worthwhile.

I also launched my Waste Knot scrunchie project in partnership with Motherly love. I was selling hand-made scrunchies made entirely from waste fabrics from the production of the collection. I donated the total sale price of these to the charity that supports new mothers and offers them a space to be honest and open about their struggles and assist them to seek NHS mental health support if needed.

This was a massively important issue close to my heart as I personally experienced mental health issues after having a baby and so to offer others support in not having to go though it alone it felt amazing. In total I raised £101 on the day for the charity.

It was amazing to share the new collection and meet my customers and marked the start of a long awaited journey and dream of mine.

The party was held in East London, not far from where the clothing is actually manufactured. People came, eager to check out the brand and see the whole collection. I loved chatting to people about the inspiration behind the brand and how to wear each piece.

You can still purchase the Waste knot scrunchies via my instagram page with a 50% proportion going to Motherly Love.

Overall it was a success, I loved meeting and interacting with people and watching others get excited about the pieces. I will be planning to do many more in real life events so follow me on Instagram to stay updated.
